Diana Horvath (Miss Diana) has studied dance for over 45 years and has over 30 years teaching experience. Diana began her dance training at age three often attending classes three days a week for Tap, Jazz and Ballet. She also studied music, the clarinet and organ. She played in her high school band and was the organist for her church.
When she turned 18, Diana began teaching at Dusti O'Connors in Parma while attending college. Diana obtained her bachelor's degree and continued her dance training in college which included Modern Dance. She also auditioned and performed in college showcases. Eleven years after college, Diana left Dusti O'Connors and opened Strongsville Dance Company. She continued her training each summer by taking Master Classes with such notables as Sandman Sims and Savion Glover for Tap, Stepp Stewart, Steven Boyd, Bob Rizzo for Jazz, and Rennie Davis for Hip-Hop.
Diana received her certification to teach dance from Dance Masters of America. She is certified to teach Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Acrobatics. The cerification involved extensive testing by a panel of examiners for each discipline. The testing involves both written testing and actual demonstration of teaching techniques and skill level. Diana has been a member of Dance Masters of America for 19 years and in 2011 she was elected to the board of directors for the Ohio chapter of Dance Masters.
Jessica Perrilliat Jessica has been dancing for 25 years and teaching for over 13. After attending Arts Magnet Schools in Dallas, Texas from ages 11 – 18 (with an emphasis in Dance), she went on to graduate from Howard University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Radio, Television, and Film with an Audio Production Concentration. She also holds a Master of Arts in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of North Texas.
Throughout her undergraduate and graduate tenure Jessica continued choreographing,
performing and working with various dance programs as well as teaching master classes for public and after school programs in the DC and Dallas Metro areas.
Before relocating to Ohio, Jessica was a Dance Instructor, Studio Manager, and
Marketing/Communications Coordinator for Just Dance in Virginia. She was also a Freshmen, Junior Varsity and Varsity Assistant Cheer Coach for a local high school in Virginia, and a Dance Instructor for Dance Expressions in Maryland.
Jessica is a certified Cecchetti Ballet teacher and is continuing her training in the method. She has extensive experience in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Liturgical, African, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Cheerleading and Strength Training. She is a lover of everything fitness/health and enjoys utilizing her expertise to expose dancers to her passion for the Arts.
Kathleen Ferrini a former student of Strongsville Dance Company, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Wright State University with an emphasis on acting. After graduating in 2012, Kathleen moved to Chicago, IL where she studied improvisation and comedy through the Second City Conservatory program, graduating in January 2015. While in Chicago Kathleen completed the creative writing program at iO and had been a member of a variety of sketch comedy groups. She has also appeared in commercials, student films, and web series. Amanda Trompak holds a Bachelor of Arts inTheater from Badlwin Wallace University. Her dance training included Kingston University, England, Dance Dance Dance, Up Tempo Dance and Living Traditions Folk Ensemble in Northeast Ohio. She also has directed and acted at BW and has done choreography for Urban Dance Association, Cleveland Shakespeare Festival and Living Traditions Folk Ensemble. Her dance skills besides hip hop, jazz, ballet, lyrical and modern, include Chinese Wushu, Classical Indian dance, African dance and Eastern European folk dance.
Kristen O'Brien was a student at Strongsville Dance Company for 14 years where she studied tap, jazz, ballet, musical theater, hip hop and lyrical dance. Since the age of 9 years old, Kristen competed in multiple dance competitions where she won numerous awards. Kristen is a graduate of Brunswick High School and graduated from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree.
April Beard - April began studying the art of dance at the age of three from Dusti O'Connor. Her training included Acrobatics, Jazz and Tap. She is the proud recipient of numerous competition awards from across the United States and was one of the best Acrobats in northeast Ohio. At the age of 12 , April began student teaching with Dusti O'Connor and participated in cheerleading and drama while in High School. In 1995, April began teaching for Strongsville Dance Company.
April continued her dance education by taking master classes with Savion Glover and continuing education workshops through Dance Masters as well as college classes at CCC. April enjoys sharing her love of dance with her students. April holds a Bachelors degree from Notre Dame College and is the proud mother of twin boys.
Sharon Kasco - Sharon has been dancing at Strongsville Dance Company for the past 20 years where she concentrated on tap, jazz and hip hop. She has competed for several years and won numerous awards. Sharon was one of the first students to enroll at Strongsville Dance Company. Sharon is currently pursuing a degree in Nursing.
Joy Walker - began dancing at Tehila Dance in North Carolina and became their youngest Company member at age 6. She began dancing at Strongsville Dance in 2002 where Joy studied in ballet, jazz, acro, musical theater, pointe, lyrical, and hip hip. Joy won numerous competitive dance and cheerleading awards. She has a background in both acting and singing. Joy is a graduate of Lutheran High School West and attended East Carolina University.
