Diana Horvath (Miss Diana) has studied dance for over 45 years and has over 30 years teaching experience. Diana began her dance training at age three often attending classes three days a week for Tap, Jazz and Ballet. She also studied music, the clarinet and organ. She played in her high school band and was the organist for her church.
When she turned 18, Diana began teaching at Dusti O'Connors in Parma while attending college. Diana obtained her bachelor's degree and continued her dance training in college which included Modern Dance. She also auditioned and performed in college showcases. Eleven years after college, Diana left Dusti O'Connors and opened Strongsville Dance Company. She continued her training each summer by taking Master Classes with such notables as Sandman Sims and Savion Glover for Tap, Stepp Stewart, Steven Boyd, Bob Rizzo for Jazz, and Rennie Davis for Hip-Hop.
Diana received her certification to teach dance from Dance Masters of America. She is certified to teach Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Acrobatics. The cerification involved extensive testing by a panel of examiners for each discipline. The testing involves both written testing and actual demonstration of teaching techniques and skill level. Diana has been a member of Dance Masters of America for 19 years and in 2011 she was elected to the board of directors for the Ohio chapter of Dance Masters.
Lauren Dangelo graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Akron in 2014 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. While there she had the pleasure of working and training with professional artists such as Chloe Felesina (Ballet X), and Christina Foisie (Cincinnati Ballet alum) . After graduating, Lauren was a dancer with the Charlottesville Ballet in Charlottesville, VA. She had the opportunity to dance both soloist and corps de ballet roles in The Nutcracker,The Firebird, as well as original contemporary works by Colby Damon (originally with Ballet X), Steven Melendez (New York Theatre Ballet) and Liz Reynolds. Currently, Lauren has worked with an array of companies in the Cleveland Ohio area included Verb Ballets. She has had roles in The Nutcracker, and roles in a tribute performance to Heinz Poll and his repertoire.
Erin Fodor graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ashland University with a B.A. in Musical Theatre. Erin teaches acting, dance and musical theatre classes all over northeast Ohio and directs children and teen theatre productions at Cassidy Theater, Lakeland Theater, Huntington Play House. She has performed in over 50 shows from 1998 to 2010 and directed and choreographed many others.
Valerie Lehman has her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Ashland University and a Masters degree in Administration. Vallerie began teaching at Strongsville Dance Company while attending Ashland University. Since the age of four, Valerie has had a passion for dance including ballet, pointe, lyrical and jazz. She started her dance career in Parma Hts. at Diane's Dance. Vallerie started taking classes at Strongsville Dance Company when she was a freshman in high school and at the age of 16 she was a student assistant. Vallerie also has studied Pointe under various guest instructors.
Kristen O'Brien was a student at Strongsville Dance Company for 14 years where she studied tap, jazz, ballet, musical theater, hip hop and lyrical dance. Since the age of 9 years old, Kristen competed in multiple dance competitions where she won numerous awards. Kristen is a graduate of Brunswick High School and graduated from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree.
April Beard - April began studying the art of dance at the age of three from Dusti O'Connor. Her training included Acrobatics, Jazz and Tap. She is the proud recipient of numerous competition awards from across the United States and was one of the best Acrobats in northeast Ohio. At the age of 12 , April began student teaching with Dusti O'Connor and participated in cheerleading and drama while in High School. In 1995, April began teaching for Strongsville Dance Company.
April continued her dance education by taking master classes with Savion Glover and continuing education workshops through Dance Masters as well as college classes at CCC. April enjoys sharing her love of dance with her students. April holds a Bachelors degree from Notre Dame College and is the proud mother of twin boys.
Lisa Frankovic- Lisa was one of the first students at Strongsville Dance Company when it opened in 1994 at the age of 9. She has trained in tap, jazz, hip-hop and ballet.. She has taught dancers of all levels in hip-hop, tap and jazz for 7 years. Her dance training began at the age of 3. As an instructor, she finds a great joy in seeing her students grow through out the year. Lisa believes that dance should be fun and accessible to all.
Joy Walker - began dancing at Tehila Dance in North Carolina and became their youngest Company member at age 6. She began dancing at Strongsville Dance in 2002 where Joy studied in ballet, jazz, acro, musical theater, pointe, lyrical, and hip hip. Joy won numerous competitive dance and cheerleading awards. She has a background in both acting and singing. Joy is a graduate of Lutheran High School West and attended East Carolina University.
